Further poking at Grenade and reviewing links from yesterday and then chaos as my credentials came through and I started trying to follow through on various access controls and the like with varying degrees of success (apparently this is a known ritual).
Terms and Such
stuff from the etherpads that need identification
- taskflow/tooz: tooz is a python package: "Coordination library for distributed systems". taskflow provides a python library for aggregating tasks into flows which can be paused, resumed and reverted. These a relevant to ceilometer because they could be useful in scaling alarm handling into being a distributed system.
- Mistral is workflows as a service for OpenStack. It appears quite new and is thus considered not ready to be the host for alarm handling. Presumably that would be a nice goal.
- scenario tests in tempest: These test multi-step paths that might touch multiple parts of the ecosystem.
- Is this group using for users of OpenStack or the developers?
Performance
There is some performance testing data which is not great. Besides the slowness, the lack of smooth curves indicates some definite weirdness at play.
Tomorrow
- Further progress on sign ups notably getting proper access to bugzilla and maitai. My hope is that some magic smoke will mature overnight and I'll be more properly bedded in.
- Experimenting with the internal openstack to eventually make it easy for me to run Grenade.
- Set up filters in Zimbra
- Kerberize alpine (actually didn't use kerberos, but got things working over the VPN)
- Other things from the onboarding list (for example I think I missed a few internal mailing lists).
