Back from Munich.

(HUGE) laptop arrived while I was gone. Will be useful as a source of CPU power and RAM but now what I would call a portable device.

Now it is time to catch up on email, write some specs, get the laptop installed, do a hangout about gnocchi and have a 1::1.

• dig around in and understand better gnocchi and come up with good question for Paris
• spec for javelin testing
• spec for ironic notifications

Now that I have the laptop I'm back to doing some devstack fiddling (using the laptop solely as a server). Some notes from that:

• ceilometer-api gets upset when configured to use mongo if localhost resolves to the ip6 address of ::1. If that's disabled, it starts fine.
• in at least one run memcached was not installed, as if the install-prereqs.sh was not sourced. Ah, it turns out that if you've recently run it, it won't run again without a force.

This all continues to be much more confusing than seems should be necessary. I suspect that people, once they get past the initial hurdle avoid messing with it if at all possible. Smelly.

Flakiness in my home network stopped play. Need to investigate ways to fix it.
