> 40% of CAMHS referrals by GPs are rejected which clearly was a high number. She has been involved with a service called Bloom which is only in Penwith but may be expanded which looked at the rejected referrals to see if there were common themes and to see if more effective signposting could be achieved. There has recently been opened an Early Help Hub to assist with referral difficulties. She encouraged the use of CAMHS eligibility criteria found on the RMS website eg Pre adhd referral children need an educational psychology report (via school) and a parenting course. She talked of a programme run in schools called Thrive which stresses non-medical intervention looking at emotional development as strands .(being doing thinking ....), and tries to fill gaps in challenging emotional behaviour. In particular learning to manage high emotion (validate, contain, calm) and separating the child's behaviour from your emotion. She gave out a useful apps and websites sheet which I have filed for use and ten top tips as to how to get CAMHS referrals accepted. Top ten tips to get into camhs ....
